550 Next-Gen Leaders from 100+ Countries Have Been Selected To Drive TFF’s Innovation Programs for Post-COVID Food System Transformation

Basel, Switzerland, 9 September 2020 — Thought For Food®️ (TFF®️) is thrilled to welcome 550 new TFF Ambassadors to its global TFF Community. The TFF Ambassador program represents a key aspect of Thought For Food®️’s global operations, multiplying the organization’s reach and impact across the globe.

Hand-selected from a pool of nearly 3500 applications received over the course of just two months, the new TFF Ambassadors hail from 350 cities in more than 100 countries worldwide. They are charged with representing TFF®️’s mission, values and approaches to key partners, with building relationships with local stakeholders, and with bringing the world’s most passionate and dedicated innovators and startups into TFF’s entrepreneurial training and acceleration programs.

The new cohort of TFF Ambassadors will work closely with the TFF Regional Coordinators as committed, local “boots on the ground”. They will engage next-gen leaders in innovation opportunities by using social media and other grassroots efforts, and help to foster collaboration opportunities locally, regionally, and globally in order to solve our food system’s most urgent challenges.

Leveraging their diverse backgrounds and experiences, the selected TFF Ambassadors stand out as skilled communicators and community-builders both online and offline. The cohort represents many relevant disciplines—from science and engineering to design and creative storytelling, from business and entrepreneurship to farming and agronomy. Additionally, the TFF Ambassadors have demonstrated that they embody TFF’s six Next-Gen Innovation Attitudes in how they lead and create change.

The new TFF Ambassadors are now taking part in a hands-on digital onboarding process offered on the TFF Digital Labs™, where they are diving into robust training modules covering topics such as how to forge win-win partnerships, communicating with impact, and project management.

“2020 is a unique year to onboard this decentralised team of TFF Ambassadors, but it is also an opportunity to lean into the digital-first community approach and setup that TFF® has been living and breathing since our get-go. Over the past 8 years, we have proven that digital collaboration can help not only to foster breakthrough innovation, but can also build the real and authentic relationships that we need to make change in the world that is purposeful and human-centered. We are thrilled to have the chance to work with these new TFF Ambassadors, who help make the TFF Community the best, most authentic and impactful global family that it is,” says Christine Gould, Founder and CEO of Thought For Food®.

The young leaders who applied, but were not selected to join the TFF Ambassador program still have a place to shine in the TFF Community, and are invited to join TFF’s next gen innovation programs and activities around the world to propel their impact in the sector.

Over the coming weeks, the TFF Ambassadors will focus their efforts on organising Watch Parties for the global telecast of Thought For Food: The 2020 Challenge Finale. The 3-hour show will tell the stories of purpose-driven innovators and entrepreneurs at the frontlines of food system transformation in all parts of the world. The program features talks from leaders from Google, Danone, Ellen MacArthur Foundation, Monstercat, and many more. To learn more about the show, which will be streamed on October 16th at 4 pm CEST, please visit thoughtforfood.org/2020finale.
